School Trip Grant Program

Thank you for your interest in the School Trip Grant Program. All of the 2019 funds have been allocated.

The Passaic County Historical Society is accepting applications for class trips beginning January 2019. This program is made possible in part by a grant administered by the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council from a general operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State.

Who is Eligible?

This funding is available to K-12 school groups (public or private), camps, clubs and scout groups interested in a tour of Lambert Castle. Schools this year, must be located in Passaic County to participate in the School Trip Grant Program.

What Costs are Covered?

The grant will provide funding for transportation, as well as admission for both students and chaperones.

The goal of this grant is to provide as many school-age children as possible the opportunity to visit Lambert Castle. Therefore, we do ask that the schools try to provide what funds they can for their trip and request from the grant program only what funds are necessary.

How to Apply?

Interested teachers can apply for funding by submitting a brief letter to the Passaic County Historical Society, detailing their monetary needs, the number of children and the date(s) of the proposed trip.

In order to completely process your application please provide the following specific information regarding your intended trip.

  1. What is the proposed date(s) of the trip? (Group Tours can be scheduled outside of the museums regular hours as well as on the weekends.)
  1. How many students do you intend to bring?
  1. How many chaperones do you intend to accompany you?
  1. What is the specific amount you are seeking? This should be broken down into admission costs and bus fees. (Admission is $3 per student and $5 per chaperone).

These applications will be reviewed in the order that they have been received and funding will be provided indiscriminately while funds last. Please be aware that while our museum tries to accommodate the schedules of our school groups, some dates and times may not be available.

How is Funding Provided?

Once your application is approved, you are free to book your bus. Coordinating teachers can submit receipts for reimbursement at the time of the tour.
