![]() The PCHS Library encompasses a rich collection of materials related to the history of cities and towns within Passaic County as well as an extensive body of genealogical information on thousands of families who lived within the county. The library contains over 2,800 books, including atlases, city directories, books by local authors, published genealogies, and local histories. The library has a manuscript collection, thousands of family group sheets on file, more than 200 maps and thousands of photographs. For more information about the archival collection please review our list of finding aids. Please be aware that this page will change and the list will grow as we continue to process collections. From mid-December through mid-October the PCHS Library is open for researchers to drop in (see schedule below); however, appointments are strongly encouraged as they will allow our staff to better assist you with your research needs. Regular Hours: Friday 1 to 4 p.m. 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month – 1 to 4 p.m. Summer Hours: Friday 12 to 4 p.m. 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month – 12 to 4 p.m. Please confirm our hours of operation before traveling long distances as they may be subject to change at any time. Access to the library is free for all members of the Passaic County Historical Society. Non-members are required to pay the museum admission fee.
